Summer Cocktails, mocktails and shotails (see what I did there...?)

July 3, 2015

Summer has taken its sweet time to get here, its the 3rd of July and its being mentioned on Twitter as #thehottestdayoftheyear! Hot, humid, and people in small shorts and tiny tops! What is better than to be out in the sun, glasses, nibbles and a fantastic list of creative cocktails, here I have listed some of the must try recipes for scrapping pennies!

Top 5 cocktails and top 5 mocktails.

The amount is UP TO YOU! As well as how many their are, feel free to put as much or little in, you cant do anything wrong thats whats so great about these!

COCKTAILS

5# Pink Bikini

A sweet and refreshing cocktail that will easily become a favorite. As one online reviwer claims, "I have made this twice and since sharing it with neighbors, it has become a neighborhood hit. It's a drink that goes down pretty easy, so be careful to not have too many."

Combine raspberry lemonade, coconut rum, and amaretto liqueur in a large pitcher. Stir well, and serve over ice.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 (1.75-liter) bottle raspberry lemonade (we used Simply Lemonade)

  • 1 3/4 cups coconut rum

  • 1 cup amaretto liqueur

#4 Ok so not really a cocktail, but this IS the best tasting shot that you will ever have. I guess you could say.... a shotail?!

This amazing shot has made me so hungry simply 3 quarters of the Chambord into the shot glass and fill the rest with the cream. Add a little bit of sugar on top, then knock it back and enjoy it!

WHAT YOU NEED

  • A bottle of Chambord (blackberry liquor)

  • double cream (yes really)

  • some sugar (available from all well stocked cupboards).

TADA!

#3 Spiked Sparkling Cider

This little lavish beauty has made some parties the most amazing night!

Grab a large bowl, combine the Prosecco, apple juice, and cinnamon schnapps.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • bottles cold Prosecco (or some other dry sparkling wine)

  • cold apple juice

  • cup of cinnamon schnapps (such as Goldschlager)

#2 White Russian

There is this amzing place in Edinburgh that sells these, and having had one I was hooked. creamy and smooth, kind of like a Balieys. To make a White Russian, make a Black Russian then layer the light cream in the glass over the back of a barspoon.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 2 ounces vodka

  • 1 ounce Kahlúa

  • 1 ounce light cream
