I have recently been binge-watching this hit tv sitcom Chrisley Knows Best which is an American reality TV series on the USA Network. It revolves around the lives of Georgia's business tycoon Todd Chrisley and his wealthy Christian family. The show was held in Roswell and Alpharetta, both near Atlanta, before moving to Nashville. Having watched it with so many funny memes and puns and comebacks here are some things you didn't know happened behind the scenes.
Todd Filed for Bankruptcy Protection in 2012.
Todd applied for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in August 2012, citing his assets at $4.2 million and debts at $49.4 million. According to his solicitor, the father of five finds himself in a financial trap after guaranteeing a $30 million immobilization loan that collapsed and left him on the hook. He claimed in court filing just $55 in a checking account and $100 in cash.
Todd’s Tumultuous Relationship with His Son Kyle
Todd has a very complex friendship with Kyle. He was booted off the family show, according to Kyle, and lost his daughter Chloe's custody to his aunt, who then started featuring her on Chrisley Knows Best to boost the ratings. Todd denied Kyle's claims, saying his son had bipolar disorder and was self-medicating. "Kyle is bipolar and usually bipolar people need a way to self-medicate, which is what Kyle has done since he was young," Todd told E! News. News. "What's better for him?"
Julie’s Tragic Past
Julie having grown up in a trailer park in Winchester, South Carolina. Her dad was a mechanic and her mother a bank employee. In 2002, a tragic event hit her family – her brother, Yrey, committed suicide behind the family trailer, leaving behind a son. He's was only 25. Her dad then quit as a mechanic to seek a new profession as a Baptist preacher.
Todd’s Sister-in-Law Tried to Extort the Family
Todd 's sister-in-law, Pamela Chrisley, was arrested in 2016 on charges of 2nd-degree harassment for attempting to entrap and extortion money. Reportedly, she threatened to sell the story to a tabloid publication unless hush payments were made into her checking account. Pamela denied involvement throughout the crimes, as well as her lawyer suspected the allegations were just a way for the Chrisley family to increase their reality show ratings.
Todd appeared in Sharknado
Todd and his kids Savannah and Grayson participated in the notorious Sharknado 4 in 2016: The 4th Awakens. The Chrisley's (who starred in the critical blowout as oneself) appeared alongside a lineup of stars including Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, Maslela Lusha, and last but not last, the great Berlin Wall killer himself, David Hasselhoff.
Todds brother passed away
Todd was born in Georgia on April 6, 1969 to stay-at-home mother, Faye, and war veteran, Gene Chrisley. After Todd, Fay and Gene had two more kids, son Randy and Derrick. Tragically, Derrick died while still a kid, leaving the family in such a devastating state that even all these years later they still refuse to talk about it.
Todd Chrisley: Country star?
According to TMZ, in January 2016 Chrisley signed his singer-songwriter career with two big producers from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). As part of the contract, TMZ announced that for Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, and Sara Evans, BMI will pair Chrisley with songwriter Shane Stevens. TMZ even got Chrisley 's photo in Evans' studio. They released a tune called "Infinite Love" that peaked July 2016 on Billboard country charts at No. 39.
Some of those sexuality rumors are from Todd Chrisley's own son
Kyle Chrisley told Life & Style that his father is definitely gay. "All people he considers his world's best friends ... they're gay," Kyle said. "I got to work for him at Chrisley Wealth Management. If one of the wealth managers was trying to take a p**s, he'd say, 'You want me to take it for you?'" As for Todd's friendship for Julie's wife, Kyle scoffed, "If the money weren't there, she'd gone a long time ago."
