Interview With Walk, Ride, Rodeo - Survivor Amberly Snyder

“Inspirational, powerful, and heartening” Netflix has just released a true story based on 18 year girl Amberley Snyder, from Logan, Utah, Following her dream to become first place Rodeo Star as with her accompanied partner named”Power”.

She practices and saves for try outs. With a quote inspiring her “winners beat talents, talent doesn’t beat winners." fights to earn back her place in the sport she loves. Her journey tragically changes in January of 2010 as she is driving on icy roads and flips her car, throwing her threw the window. leaving her broken at the T11 and T12 vertebrae. Paralyzed from the waist down with a five-hour surgery to try to stabilize her back, which could not be saved. Nationally ranked barrel racer Amberley Snyder barely survives.

A young enthusiastic and power driven individual wanting to win first place at the Britches rodeo, following sprints from 17.10 seconds and coming in second place.

With weeks in Rehab, the true story of her struggles as she tries to get back on the horse and continues her life without the feeling of her legs. The heartbreak, the feeling of being lost, the family stuggles and finance, and how she kept pushing to achieve her overall goal. Mind blowing film.

Now 20 year old Amberley is riding, having won the rodeo in 2018 and is training individuals who want to ride who are paralysed.

I was super inspired to get an interview with Amberly about her thoughts, life changes after the film and whats happening in the new year!

When Riding what goes through your mind during a competition?

"I just try to think through all my steps. Know i have prepared to get there and ride hard!"

Who is your biggest admirer? (Actor. family. anything at all!) Who do you look up too and why?

"I look up to my family. I truly am blessed with the greatest people!"

What about music, Favourite band? Or band you follow at the moment?

It changes a lot. My favorite song is the one i wrote with Max Ehrich. Ride.

You have been through so much, some of us know that struggle and loss, what (Apart from riding got you up in the morning)?

"My family."

What is your favourite dish to cook?

"Cheesy bacon potatoes.... mostly because everyone loves them."

Now to some more personal questions, how were you getting back into a car again?

"I really was excited to get the freedom back!"

Where would you love to travel to next?

"I am not sure!! I travel a lot already! i also don't know how accessible out of the country places are."

Last of all, what have you planned for the next year?!

"Speaking, rodeo, family!! Thats always my plans."

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. I realize, maybe I won't have control over every situation in my life. Maybe I don't get to make every decision. But when I wake up in the morning, I get to decide my attitude. -... - And if that's the only decision I get to make that day - I better make it a good one. Because with the right attitude, who knows what you can achieve? " - Amberley Snyder:

While making the film did you know The horse stunts were done by Amberly Snyder on her own horse, the real "Power", so she would look "natural" during the scenes after the car accident. The ones before the accident were done by her sister.
