Quiz Show "Benchmark"

I cannot believe it has been a week since my audition/casting for the new game show hosted by Paddy McGuiness! You heard right, a interesting and exciting game show "Benchmark" which will be featured on Channel 4.

The show sees a panel of 10 members of the British public, the Benchmarkers, try to help contestants win thousands of pounds. (Yap I auditioned to be a contestant and got asked to come in for an interview in Glasgow last Monday.)

The Benchmarkers will answer several tricky numerical questions with contestants deciding whether they are in agreement with their answers. (I was not super sure about all this at first, until arriving having found out much of it was knowledge based… so that was interesting…)

As well as helping guide the contestants, the Benchmarkers are also in their own battle to be top of the leader board to play for cash on the next show as the contestant.

I have to add, I arrived with ripped jeans, pink hair, massive jumper, small bag and vans. To make things better, the room was rather warm and the nerves kicked in and I was like a pie overheated in the oven and forgotten about to burn! RED FACE ALERT!

The brief explained “So if you are fun, lively, always have a story to tell - apply to be a contestant now.” So what did I do, I APPLIED. The following day I got a phone call asking me to go over to Glasgow for a casting, no idea what I was to expect as well as hearing last minute its was a very knowledgeable game show and not just pressing and button and opening a box. I put my game face on and did what I could, well I was myself, telling the story of meeting mother Teresa and being attacked by a cheetah. We also had to do a few fun games and the room was filled with a lovely and multi-cultural group of 15. Lets just say the 2:30 hours was by far one of the best hours of my life… Met some super great people. I felt so at home!

So that was my day with that, having left any acting and game shows behind, which I hadn’t ever thought id do! Over all it was a huge experience, I hear back in a few weeks, but either way, think its an experience for the bucket list people! Be sure to check it out and hear when the first season is being aired, unfortunatly auditions are now closed but be sure to still check out channel 4 and Victory TV for futher shows!
